Forum Rules
Advertising
Any advertising of forums or other servers will not be accepted here. This applies to everywhere on the forums, including graphics, signatures, profiles, usertitles and private messages. Websites such as Google and Youtube are perfectly acceptable and are exempt from the Advertising rule, as long as the site doesn't end up linking you to other communities/servers.
Note: If you have a website for a Menacescape clan then please seek permission to post your site link from a Moderator/Admin.
Spam
We do not allow spamming on our forums. Spamming also includes double posting, posting in other languages besides English and grave digging. Before posting please make your posts meaningful. Think about what you are posting before doing so, and make sure it abides with the forum rules.
*To gravedig a topic is to post on an incredibly old topic where the discussion has been dead for a long period of time*
Flame
Simply put, we disallow flaming here. It is immature and makes the forums look bad. If you simply can't get along with someone, then use the ignore list feature.
Inappropriate Content (Pornography, Gore, 18+ Literature etc)
The posting of inappropriate content is strictly prohibited. You are not to post or send links or images of pornography, child pornography, nudity, gore, or obscure/inappropriate content to other forums members. The punishment for this is severe. This includes linking to websites that may redirect, contain, or lead to these types of links or images, as well as images that are disturbing. It also adheres to websites that may hijack ones browser, as well as phishing.
Ban Evasion
Ban evasion is considered to be a severe offense, and if conducted, it will lead to even further and possibly more serious consequences. A temporary ban evasion may lead to a permanent ban, and then possibly an IP ban. Simply put, do not try to evade your ban; serve it and don?t risk your account. Account sharing / relaying messages from the banned user(s) is not allowed as well. Exception made when an alternative account is used to create your appeal, although said account cannot post or talk in shoutbox.
Malicious Content/Phishing
Malicious content pertains to general Viruses, Keyloggers, trojans, RATs and Phishing sites. They are not to be posted under ANY circumstances. If any downloads/websites posted are found to contain any of the content mentioned above, your account will be permanently banned.
Server Rules
Spam
Not only is spamming on the server pointless, but it is a nuisance too. Any form of Spamming, be it entering random gibberish several times into the chatbox, spamming somebodies PM or spamming the yell channel is not allowed. Breaking this rule may result in a temporary mute.
Flame
We share the same attitude on the Server towards flame as we do here on the forums. It is not allowed under any circumstances. If somebody starts to Flame you on the server, simply take a screenshot and post a report thread so it may be handled by one our Server staff.
Breaking this rule may result in a temporary mute. If you consistently break this rule, the mute may become permanent.
Bug Abuse
Bug abuse is quite obviously not allowed. Abusing bugs may lead to a permanent ban, an IP ban or even account deletion. If you think something isn't right on the server, consult a member of staff or even better - post a bug report thread
Advertising
You are not allowed to advertise in game. If you disobey this serious action will be taken.
Shoutbox Rules
Offensive Language
Offensive language at MenaceScape is considered flame, spam, racist, or any language another user might find offending. If you do happen to offend another user by accident, apologize. Any continuous "Accidents" will lead to appropriate action.
Advertising
You are not allowed to advertise in the shoutbox. Advertising is strictly prohibited and will be dealt with harshly.
Note: Affiliated members are exempt, but if you spam, you will be dealt with accordingly.
Links
If you want to share a website, a thread or a post with us then that's fine as long as it abides by the Forum advertisement rule. However do not spam your link the shoutbox. As mentioned above, the shoutbox is for chatting with other users, by spamming all you achieve is annoying everyone in the shoutbox.
Shoutbox ban/silence evasion
This rule is essentially the same as our Forum ban evasion rule, except it applies to the shoutbox. If you are banned or silenced from the shoutbox, don't make another account just to talk to users. It is not allowed, and by doing so your main account will be infracted and your shoutbox punishment will be lengthened.
Staff Impersonation
Please do not abuse the /me command to portray yourself as a staff member. Newer users may find this confusing, and it only gives the staff more work to do.
Caps Lock
Excessive use of caps lock is not allowed. We understand sometimes you may want somebodies attention, however frequent use of caps lock is just an annoyance. If frequently used, your shouts will be seen as spam.
Donations
Don't ask any type of staff or member when you are on the shoutbox about when donations are going to be finished. When the owner gets the chance on doing it, he will do it. He does them within 48 hours and at times a lot early but it all depends how busy he is.
Excessive BB Code Use
Over using BB codes are not allowed in the shoutbox. The shoutbox is used to chat, and in some cases for technical support. It is very annoying to see someone spamming the shoutbox with bold and colourful text over and over again, so if you are going to use BB codes, please don't do it frequently.
The use of BB codes that enlarge the shoutbox (such as quote) are not to be used.
